Oh Bugger! Travels of a Donkey © 1995
A coming-of-age adventure Quentin James is 18 years old and fed up with his chosen career path. He decides to go travelling whereupon he meets an array of international folk in a not too disimilar situation. He journeys first to Israel joining a kibbutz however circumtstances escalate and he, along with his new friends, are booted out. After touring the countryside they cross the border (with some difficulty) to Egypt and visit many wonderful picture postcard locations. As this was my first book it is not as straight laced as it seems. It is semi autobigraphical and the way it is written coincides with how a KS mind works (so I've been told, although I didn't know I had it at the time). There are a few poetic scenarios, daydreams that appear as snippet-like cartoons. There is a play featuring six trapped daddylonglegs awaiting death and myself as the narrator talking sometimes about the adventures and others directed toward the reader. Contents include mild swearing & drug use. The Asylum Years © 1981-2012
There are 51 short stories, some are true, others are downright daft. I have included sections of cartoon-like illustrations and future book or cartoon ideas that some large company will pay me oodles of pounds for (in my dreams). Seriously though I have written tales of love, hate, boredom and excitement but the true stories like Mistaken Identity and Santa Catalina Hides Beasts still put a tear in my eye as I remininsce about those days and I cringe knowing that I was so naieve. William the Conkerer is a silly illustrated story. William was born a horse chesnut, soaked in vinegar and forged in an oven as a baby. His story is brought to you by sport journalist Nick Nut, an acorn with keen eye and a wise desire and at $6.99 it's surely a snip! Contents include mild swearing. |
